Thirst

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go and meet with God? (Ps. 42:2)

The Future Glory of Zion - Isaiah 35
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. 4Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you."
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. 7The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray. 9No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. ...
But the redeemed shall walk there, 10And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Well if we were wondering what (look at all those "w" words :D ) the kingdom of God looks like, here it is. The kingdom of God brings life, even to nature (vs 1). It involves the taking of the goods and things that are praised in this world and having them given to the church, to be used for God and his glory. When the kingdom comes, the world hears about it and people come to see it (vs 1-2). So... stay strong says vs 3. Your God is coming, and he will save you from the trials of this world and prove he is for real. When this happens healings break out, for real... the blind see, the deaf hear, and the lame walk (see vs 5). The path to this place is holiness (vs 8). No fool or imoral man will walk here. No religous pharissee or man who is intelectually sufficient for his God (who he has cramed into his head). No this is impossible, no fool will ever stummble across this path even when he goes astray (vs 8). .... BUT, the redeemed will walk here!!! Me and you, saved by grace! With a kingdom bestowed upon us. Those who walk here, enter with great joy, there is no more mourning or striving in the kingdom. Father, let your kingdom come and your will be done, on Wheaton, as it is in heaven.
- Now do you see why I am drunk all the time, this is too good to be true... let the everlasting joy crown your head!
