My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go and meet with God?
(Ps. 42:2)
lol... this dude sounds like he is new at the dating thing (or maybe unfortunatly he has some hurts). I don't want to knock this guy as a person, but... God made males the pursuer (just ask any male about thier hormones). That is not to be gross or perverse, but rather to reflect created order. So in one sense, the idea of guys being the pursuer is antique, it goes all the way back to creation. Any guy, in a healthy state, who is attracted to a girl will pursue her. This can be affected by hurts and inablities to relate, but this doesn't change how we were made. Now I do think that it is ok for a girl to not be so reserved that they never show thier affection in a relationship (in any stage, even pre-dating). But they must be careful and check their motives. Why are they acting the way they are around this guy... For both a guy and a girl, both should check thier motives constantly as to why they are doing and saying the things they are. Our deepest need as a human is for love, therefore, the lack of love leads to the biggest problems. The perversions of a persons heart can be so sudle, or completely obvious. In either case be careful, spiritual blindness (through hurt, unforgivness, depression) can greatly alter our desicions. To the mature I say, In dating we should remember that what our heart really is longing for is Jesus. Our physical body, which is a good thing that God created, wants to be united with someone else (the two will become one flesh). The problem arises when the flesh lusts, or desires something over God, this is idolatry. So, be free... Be free to date and enjoy love between male and female. Yet, continue to love the Lord, who is your God and bridegroom, with ALL of your heart.
