Thirst

I just found out about this, and someone needs to know, even at 1:18am-- they decided definitely to do the China outreach following 40 Days-- they're calling it China Encounter, and here's some of what they describe it as:

China Encounter Trips are an integral part of a new reconciliation initiative (to be launched in 2003) from Britain and other western nations to apologise for the sins of the West against China. To loosen the powerful ties of history there need to be many positive encounters between Chinese and European peoples. We need to be reconciled, to exchange a position of enmity for one of intimacy. For that to happen we need to face resolutely and squarely how Chinese people perceive us, and to seek to walk differently. We also need to allow God to challenge our prejudices and our attitudes towards difference. China Encounters seek to make this a positive experience; as we get to know Chinese people and enjoy their culture, and have fun doing so, we discover God?s love for this nation, and our own love for China grows.

China Encounter Trips are opportunities to get to know and learn about China. We do not go to judge, take sides , to condemn, to carry our own ideas. We are not there to evangelise or distribute Bibles. We are simply there as followers of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, to be peacemakers, to walk through China in humility and to deliver a message of apology for the wrongs of the past. The credibility of the reconciliation initiative and future trips depends on you abiding by these principles and policies.

Sounds pretty sweet, eh? I'm not going to be able to go, i don't think, because it's over September 1, and plus, it would take a whole bunch of money which i do not have. But those things never stopped God before! Whatever, I really don't care- i just want to be where God wants me to be. Welp, see ya later!
