Thirst

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go and meet with God? (Ps. 42:2)

I'm doing fine, because I'm in the hands of the GREAT BIG CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE who LOVES me so much He just can't help it.

The song went great on Sunday- there was a real power.

I've been working at a camp doing landscaping type stuff-- mostly just trimming trees.

I spoke tonight at one of our small group meetings, which was really a great time. We read a bunch of verses where Jesus was talking about the Pharisees doing things to be seen by men, and what he thought about that, which is pretty powerful and hard-hitting. Then I went on to talk about living for God's approval, and the spiritual discipline of secrecy. Then I went into what we get when we live for an audience of One-- i've been reading this awesome book I got from one of the brothers I work for (Franciscan brothers)-- it's by Mary Ellen Ashcroft, an English prof at Bethel, and it's called Dogspell: Dogmatic Theology on the Abounding Love of God-- it's really an awesome book-- i've read, no cried through, about half of it already. She uses the metaphor of a dog to talk about the love of God- so powerful. So that went well.

Pray, please please please, for this thing with the car and the accident I had with a friend of mine a while back that never got resolved- i don't know if you remember me telling you about that-- well he's been giving me the runaround about the insurance and whatever, and basically he wants me to pay for the damages to his car. I told him that's what car insurance is for, but he says his company won't cover it. It sounds really fishy to me, but i was respectful and told him that if his problem is with the company, he couldn't expect me to pay for it. So, i just got an email from him that i'm still reeling from, in which he slandered my character something fierce, hehe, along with other bad junk garbage puke that he felt like vomiting on me. That's what happens when you're the minister's kid, though-- I'm just leaning wounded on God, hoping his robe of love will cover me ( i know it will). So pray for me, and pray for him.

I'm leaving a week from today, which is next tuesday, june 11. The one thing God has impressed upon me in preparation for this trip is the necessity of a prayer base that will support me. So, please, pray for me as I'm over there and even now-- i know that this summer is going to be a powerful one, and i don't want to miss out on anything that God wants to do. What a glorious misadventure it is to serve a God of crazy love and naked joy! Hahahaha, i love you guys-- hope you're well...
