Thirst

Hey shan-dawg, and everyone else, but specifically shannon because she wanted to know-- I've been fine-- the DTS resumed last night, and we've just been going around each sharing our story of how God has led us to this point. It's been awesome hearing from everyone-- that's one of my favorite things to hear, is what God is doing in people's lives, stories of how they sought Him and he was faithful. Along with that, I've been reading more of the OT, specifically 2 Chronicles and 1 Samuel. The thing with 1 samuel is it's the story of 4 people- hannah, samuel, saul, and David-- and God's story he was writing through their lives into history. I've been reading it in The Message, which is pretty cool-- i especially loved the stories of the first encounters between Samuel and Saul. First, Saul was looking for 3 donkeys. Then he meets up with Samuel, and Samuel starts telling him what God said or whatever, then at the end of what he says he just kind of says, Oh, and by the way, your donkeys have been found, don't worry about it. Hilarious... Then later, he tells him what's going to happen when he goes back home, that he'll be walking along, and he'll come to this hill, and a whole line of prophets will come flying down the hill playing instruments and prophesying. Then, he says, you'll join in and start prophesying with them, and you'll be changed into a new person. It's so funny... Then it actually happens...

Later, Saul sends all these messengers to samuel, and every time they come, they start prophesying along with the prophets and don't come back. So finally saul comes, and the same thing happens to him-- he strips off his clothes and he's laying there prophesying-- hilarious...

So God is funny-- i love that sense of humor... Ok, we're meeting right now, so i'll talk to you laters....
